"Now I see the secret of making the best persons,
it is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the earth"

~Walt Whitman

We believe in helping your children thrive as a whole, this includes teaching them healthy habits inside and out. Frequent exposure to nature allows children to engage all of their senses simultaneously, benefitting their physical health and overall well-being. Running, jumping, climbing, balancing and crawling come naturally to young children and help improve their gross motor skills and coordination. Exposure to fresh air and natural sunlight can help improve the immune system and mood. Playing outdoors is also the best way for children to explore and improve their physical capabilities.

Daily meals at Evergreen Lane include breakfast, lunch and snack. We believe in fueling our young learners with the best nutrition so that they can perform at their peak.  Meals and snacks include a variety of fruits, vegetables, meats and grains that encourage children to acquire a lifelong appreciation for healthy eating. We shop local and organic whenever possible and limit the amount of processed and high sugar foods. In the warmer months, children help grow and harvest some of their own food. We aim to be mindful of food waste and composting. Water is available to children throughout the day.

We aim to provide children with a safe and toxin-free environment to the best of our abilities. Inside of our home we use plant based cleaners, “Free and Clear” dishwashing liquid, “Free and Clear” hand soaps, “free and clear” laundry detergent and keep our windows open as much as possible for fresh air. Our art supplies are non-toxic, we have filtered air in each room used by children including the bathroom and are transitioning to toxin free toys every day.
